Bicyclist hit by car in New Mexico dies from his injuries

Albuquerque, New Mexico (AP) June 2011

Police says a bicyclist who was struck by a car earlier this month in Albuquerque has died.

Authorities say 36-year-old Matt Trujillo died last week.

Trujillo was taken to UNM Hospital immediately following the accident for treatment of unspecified injuries.

KOB-TV says Trujillo was an avid cyclist and was commuting to work by bike the morning he was hit.

Albuquerque police say a 20-year-old female driver ran a red light near Washington Street and Indian School Road.

Police say Memori Hardwick likely will face vehicular homicide charges, but that decision will be left up to the District Attorney.

It was unclear last week whether Hardwick has legal representation yet.
