Authorities say one person has been killed in a house fire in north Norman.

Officials say firefighters saw heavy smoke and flames when they responded to a residence on Indian Hills Road about 12:20 p.m. last week. Crews found a woman’s body in a bedroom.

The woman’s name wasn’t immediately released.

Officials say the blaze was brought under control in about 10 minutes, and flames were contained to the bedroom and an attic area. Preliminary damage has been estimated at $30,000.

It is the second deadly fire in Norman this month.

Two children, ages 1 and 4, were killed in a blaze Oct. 11 at a west Norman apartment complex.
