Michigan has another Indian-owned casino.

Leaders of the Saginaw Chippewa Tribe held an official ribbon-cutting ceremony during January for its Saganing Eagles Landing Casino. It’s located south of Standish on Saginaw Bay.

Saginaw radio station WSGW-AM says this new gambling mecca covers nearly 32,000 square feet with 747 slot machines and video table games.

Chief Fred Cantu says the casino technically opened New Year’s Eve for staff training purposes, but word got out and people had to line up outside on New Year’s Day.

The Saginaw Chippewas’ other business holdings include the Soaring Eagle Casino and Resort in Mount Pleasant. Saganing Eagles Landing is the state’s 19th Indian casino.
