Brahmer, Victor Gilbert - WWII Army Veteran

ARIZONA, Lakeside – A memorial service for VICTOR GILBERT BRAHMER, 82, was held for friends and family at Hawley Lake in the White Mountains of Arizona, one of his favorite fishing spots. Victor was born April 7, 1927, in Medford, Wisconsin. He passed away July 22, 2009, at his home, surrounded by family.

Victor served in the U.S. Army as a veteran of World War II. After the war, he worked as a lumber grader in Wisconsin, before moving his family to New Mexico and then to Arizona. After years of labor, he achieved status as a Master Lumber Grader, also serving as the representative of the Southwestern U.S. For the Western Timber Association. Victor and his wife, Virginia, were loving parents to five children, which included four adopted children from multi-national backgrounds. They also took in and helped raise six foster children. Their household consisted of children who were Caucasian, African-American, and Native American including Pottawatomies, Acomas, Apaches, Zunis, and Navajos.
