Finkbonner, Clayton D.: Walks On

Lummi, Washington

Funeral services were held for CLAYTON D. FINKBONNER, 61, on July 14, at the Wex’liem Community Building. Clayton was born January 28, 1950, in Bellingham, Washington. He passed away July 9, 2011.
   
Clayton had a zest for life and was a generous man. He was entrepreneurial, competitive, hardworking and compassionate. He devoted his time to encouraging kids to play sports and drove them to live up to their full potential. Clayton was a loving husband, proud father and grandfather, and was always first to hold each of his grandchildren. Clayton also enjoyed golfing, commercial fishing and coaching sports. Clayton was passionate about economic development for the tribe. He worked on projects such as the Lummi Mini Mart, Lummi Casino, Gooseberry Point, Lummi Fish Company, and most recently the Gateway Center. He was a commercial fisherman in the San Juan’s for many years. (Lummi Squol Quol, August 2011)
