James, Michael Clark: Walking On

Yakima, Washington April 2011

Funeral services were held for MICHAEL CLARK JAMES, 53. on February 8, 2011, at the Lyle Longhouse. Interment followed at the family cemetery in Lyle, Washington. Michael was born November 29, 1957, in Denver, Colorado. He passed away February 5, 2011, at the Yakima Regional Hospital.

Michael was raised at the Columbia River in the Klickitat and Lyle areas and graduated from Goldendale High School. Michael loved the outdoors and always wanted to go camping. He liked huckleberry picking, hunting, fishing, and digging roots. He loved playing with his grandchildren. His hobbies included making beaded earrings, sitting by the window in this favorite chair reading the sports page, reading western novels and watching western movies. Michael was an all-star athlete in football and basketball. He loved the Green Bay Packers. Michael was a fisherman, construction worker, laborer and firefighter. He was an enrolled member of the Yakama Nation. (Yakama Nation Review, February 11, 2011)
