Spino, Leslie G.

OREGON, Pendleton – Funeral services were held for LESLIE G. SPINO, 53, on November 4, 2010, at the Agency Longhouse in Mission, Oregon. Interment followed at the Old Agency Cemetery in Mission. Leslie was born December 21, 1956, in Pendleton. He passed away November 2, 2010, at his home in Pendleton.

    Leslie attended grade schools in Adams, Oregon, and high school at Pendleton High School. After high school he attended Blue Mountain Community College. He then attended Southwest Polytechnic Institute in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He had worked as a librarian and archivist for the Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation in the Department of Science. He had also worked as a mechanic for Smith Frozen Foods and Simplot Foods. He later moved to the Warm Springs area where he worked as supervisor and surveyor for the Warm Springs Tribal Road Department. He later retired due to bad health. He was an enrolled member of the Yakama Nation and greatly enjoyed playing golf, hunting, fishing, camping and powwows. In his younger years he enjoyed riding horses.
