News From Indian Country October 2010

Mark Hicks blends contemporary and traditional flute songs during this soothing cd. His traditional Native American flute fills songs such as “Amazing Grace” and “The Blood” with swirling curative tones. A talented musician, Mark Hicks has worked for SOAR and entertained audiences internationally with his distinctive style of flute music.

Moon Dancer is a Native E-Music Award Nominee. This cd focuses on healing and restorative notes and melodies. The result is a warm and swirling selection of songs, such as “Wedding Song”, “White Horse,” and the title track.  The influences of Mark Hicks’ home in Cherokee,NC, appear as he celebrates nature during “Squirrel Song”, beauty in “Night Chorus” and spirituality in “Moon Rise.” Audiences  will be encouraged and uplifted by the lovely tunes on this cd and the culture that inspired them.
