Anchorage house planned for homeless Native teens

Anchorage, Alaska (AP) March 2011

Two organizations are raising money to build a facility to house as many as 40 homeless Alaska Native teens in Anchorage.

The Cook Inlet Tribal Council and the Alaska Native Heritage Center are seeking government funding and donations to build Dena’ina House.

KTUU reports it would be located on the Native Heritage Center campus. Residents would attend nearby Bartlett High School, which is run by the tribal council.
