Two confirmed to Indian arts board in New Mexico

The U.S. Senate has confirmed two Santa Fe woman to the board of trustees of the Institute of American Indian Arts.

As trustees, JoAnn Lynn Balzer and Cynthia Chavez Lamar will help develop policies, rules and bylaws and direct strategic planning for the four-year tribal college based in Santa Fe.

The Institute of American Indian Arts is one of three congressionally chartered schools in the nation. As such, its trustees are nominated by the president and confirmed by the Senate.
