Haskell President - For 2nd time, ‘no confidence’ in Haskell president

Lawrence, Kansas (AP) May 2010

For the second time, the Board of Regents at Haskell Indian Nations University has approved a vote of no confidence in president Linda Warner.

The unanimous vote during May comes as federal officials prepare to hire a new administrator for the four-year university for American Indians in Lawrence.

The Lawrence Journal-World reports that Warner has not performed any duties as president since September, when she was sent to work at Southwestern Indian Polytechnic Institute in Albuquerque, N.M.

She has been working at the Bureau of Indian Education’s regional bureau office in Oklahoma City since January.

The regents, who first approved a vote of no confidence in Warner in 2008, over concerns about her working relationship with the board.
