The University of Nebraska at Omaha is marking its largest class of graduating Native American Studies program participants.

A ceremony was held on the campus May 7 to honor the 12 undergraduates and one graduate student completing minors in Native American studies this year.

The Native American Studies program was established at UNO in 1992 and boasts nearly 150 alumni.

The program regularly offers coursework in federal Indian law and tribal governments, as well as Native American literature, histories, religions and cultures.

Undergraduates must complete a minimum of 18 credit hours to qualify for a minor in the program. Graduate students must complete nine credit hours.
