Man sentenced to prison for fatal accident

Rapid City, South Dakota (AP) December 2010

A Kyle man will spend three years in a federal prison for a November 2009 rollover accident on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation that killed a passenger in his vehicle.

The U.S. Attorney’s office said 22-year-old Denny Spotted Eagle pleaded guilty earlier to involuntary manslaughter.

He also was ordered by the judge to pay $14,000 to the victim’s family.

Prosecutors said Spotted Eagle’s blood alcohol content at the time of the crash was 0.167, twice the legal limit for driving.
