Beaulieu, Rosella

MINNESOTA, Bagley – Funeral services were held for ROSELLA BEAULIEU, 74, on November 2, 2010, at the Rice Lake Community Center. Interment followed at the Rice Lake Community Cemetery. Rosella was born April 24, 1936, in White Earth, Minnesota. She passed away October 28, 2010, in Bagley.

    Rosella grew up in the Rice Lake Village area and attended school in Pipestone, Minnesota. After school, Rosie returned to the Rice Lake Village to make her home. While raising her large family, Rosie also worked outside the home. She began her working career as a teacher’s aide in the Bagley School and then worked for a time in home health care as a Community Health Representative. In the late 1970’s Rosie received her training as an EMT and was employed with the White Earth Rescue Service, stationed in Naytahwaush, Minnesota. During this same time, she served as Summer Youth Supervisor and worked as a teacher with the Adult Basic Education Program. Later in life she began cooking for the Elder Nutrition Program and also for the Tribal Council. In 1998, she was hired as the receptionist with the Tribal Council where she worked until her retirement in 2008. (Anishinaabeg Today, November 3, 2010)
