The Black Lodge Singers, led by Blackfeet tribal member Kenny Scabby Robe, are up for a Grammy for their CD, “Watch This Dancer.”

The nomination is the sixth for the group based in White Swan, Washington.

The singers have recorded more than 30 CDs on several labels and currently record for Phoenix-based Canyon Records.

The group also is featured on two compilation CDs released by SOAR Records. One of those, by renowned flutist R. Carlos Nakai, won a Grammy in 1994.

The Black Lodge Singers have never won a Grammy for their own work, despite being nominated four times in the Best Native American Music Album category, vocal or instrumental.
