More Awards for Joanne Shenandoah

Joanne Shenandoah, America's most honoured Native musician, has added more awards to her distinguished career.

During November the American Indian Film Festival in San Francisco, CA presented her with the "Best Music Video" award while the film "Our Land Our Life", in which Shenandoah wrote and sang the entire music score, was acknowledged as "Best Documentary".

The subject of the documentary, Carrie Dann, an elder of the Western Shoshone Nation, was given the Eagle Spirit award for her courage in preserving her nation's heritage.

During October Shenandoah was honoured with a "Lifetime Achievement" statue by the Native American Music Awards ceremony in Niagara Falls, NY.
