About Who NFIC/ICTV Is

Who We Are
Indian Country Communications, Inc. is an independent, Indian-owned, reservation based business that produces IndianCountryTV.com and published News From Indian Country. We are located on the Lac Courte Oreilles Ojibwe Reservation in Northern Wisconsin and have eight stock holders and are one of the few tribally oriented publications that is not owned, or politically controlled by a tribal government.

News From Indian Country and IndianCountryTV are currently our main efforts to assist in providing the public with news and information from Indigenous Nations.

ICC, Inc. is governed by a five member board of directors who over see the CEO that publishes News From Indian Country, The Mishomis Book and several Ojibwe Language materials projects.

In addition, ICC owns an office building in which is housed: Circle Systems, a computer sales and repair business, American Indian Against Abuse (AIAA), Caribou Thunder an employment search assistance center and Heathstar.

For over two decades ICC, Inc. published News From Indian Country, an Independent National Newspaper and is the oldest national Native newspaper in the United States in compact form.

As of 2014 News From Indian Country publishes 14 issues a year with both its print and electronic-edition, supplying national news, pow-wow dates and information on all of Indian Country to all of the world. NFIC contains national, cultural and regional sections PLUS special interest articles, features, entertainment, letters and one of the most up-to-date comprehensive pow-wow directories throughout North America.  Our electron edition is found at: digital.newsfromindiancountry.com

We are now developing our IndianCountryTV.com section with regular offerings such as the Native News Update produced three times a week and RezStyle and will soon be broadcasting online and on cable, regular news updates on a weekly basis at first, and then on a daily basis in the near future. If you know of anyone that would like to invest in, or help underwrite our digital programming feel free to contact us.

NFIC may not be as slick and fancy as some of the well funded government websites, newspapers or magazines but we pride ourselves in our endeavor and could not do it without our contributors and supporters who believe in the same. Thank You for being with us.
